PVCC Bookstore Update: Getting Textbooks Online

Campus News Local News News

Due to the Coronavirus, the PVCC campus Bookstore has been temporarily closed. Luckily, there is another way for students to get their required materials for the upcoming summer semester. Here is a step-by-step instruction on how to do this.

First, students will go to www.pvccshop.com and click “Textbooks” on the following page. Then, following the instructions on screen, plug in the information about their summer classes to find the course materials associated with each. At this point, students have the option of whether they would like to purchase or rent their textbooks, both used and new. A decision must be made for each individual textbook, and options may vary due to the availability of a certain textbook. If the textbook is out of stock, students may choose to put in their email and get a notification as soon as the book is available.

This is what students will see when they follow the link to the PVCC Bookstore website. From here, they can choose the term and classes that they want textbooks for and click “Find Courses” to be taken to the list of required texts. Screenshot by Jude Bolick.

Once students have placed all of their textbooks in their shopping bag, they will click “Checkout” and follow the on-screen instructions to choose a payment method. Starting on May 12, financial aid will be available as a payment option until June 4. Additionally, free ground shipping will be provided for all orders through May 22. After selecting a payment method, simply follow the remaining prompts to enter personal information and finish placing the order.

As with the on-campus Bookstore, textbooks are not the only things available. As quoted in a recent email sent out by the PVCC Bookstore, “Not only do we provide the required course materials for their class but also essential supplies, reference material, study aids and technology.” With the wide variety offered, students should feel confident that all of their supply needs will be amply met. For more information, contact Bob Fred, the PVCC Bookstore manager, at 0743mgr@follett.com, and check out my other article for information about the rental service and more.
