First Day of Fall Fun At Chiles Peach Orchard

Events Local News

On Sept. 21 and 22, Chiles Peach Orchard held their 13th annual Fall Into Fun Festival and it was the perfect way to kick off the fall season. The main barn was beautifully decorated with wheelbarrows full of pumpkins and stacks of hay bales. Guests had the opportunity to pick a variety of apples and pumpkins from the orchard. Although not all of the apples were ready for picking there was still a large variety available, including Honeycrisp and September Wonder. For an additional charge people were able to pick sunflowers and zinnias from a large garden across the street. Outside on the lawn there were tons of vendors with handmade goodies. One had handmade stickers, bookmarks, and pillows. Another vendor was braiding sparkly ribbons into guests’ hair. Children had lots of autumn-themed arts and crafts. Right outside of the barn there was a stage set up with a live band of about five older men playing old time rock music and some country music, they played all day and never stopped for a single break. People danced to it all day.

Inside, the barn was packed full of people standing in line to get fresh, hot cider donuts. The smell of apples and cinnamon filled the air. There were loads of shopping opportunities for guests of all ages. They had a whole table with the cutest wooden toys that children were playing with. For the adults, there was every kind of apple-themed food item imaginable. Aside from the apple-themed foods and baking goods, there were multiple shelves with bushels full of apples. A booth handed out samples of apples so you could try them before you made your purchase. The weather was perfect for fall activities. It was warm enough but there was still a slight chill in the air with an ever so slight breeze that helped cool you down, and the sun was shining bright.
