A Warm and Welcoming Night of Chorus

Arts & Entertainment Events Music

Kyle LaTorre is an advocate for local events in the Ruckersville, Virginia area. He is constantly suggesting get-togethers with individuals who might be interested in leaving their personal bubble for a night and getting to know local residents a little better. One of the events that LaTorre loves to let residents know about is Blue Ridge Cafe’s Karaoke Nights.  LaTorre informed me that Blue Ridge Cafe hosts a karaoke night every Thursday from 7-10 p.m., at 8315 Seminole Trail, in Ruckersville.

Nothing was more reassuring and worry-easing than a smile at the door, welcoming customers and guiding them to the room where the event takes place. The staff did an absolutely phenomenal job at both giving great service to guests who wished to just attend the event, providing drinks and food, and providing excellent reassurance to those worried about participating in the karaoke event. The menu had a collection of food that is not typically seen at local restaurants and bars. Taking the location into consideration (the surrounding buildings aren’t exactly the prettiest), it’s surprising the variety of food and drinks that are on the menu. The menu included a variety of foods like a beef brisket quesadilla, asian pork dumplings, beef stroganoff, and southwest chicken nachos, all of which were very appetizing.

LaTorre summed up the event as “a warm community of people that just want to sing.” There is almost no judgment at all from the audience, and everyone motivates each other to do their own performance to the song of their choosing. The crowd is extremely cheerful about the performances and very empathetic at times with certain song choices. The only valid criticism would be that there could have been more performances from those willing, although that’s pretty much what one would expect when it comes to strangers singing in front of each other.

The event was jam-packed, extremely welcoming, and super engaging even for new faces. Whenever you are in Ruckersville on a Thursday night, there is no better place to be than Blue Ridge Cafe’s Karaoke Night.
